Below is a selection of the most important ancient and conquest-era sites in and around Mexico City. These are the essential Mexico City sites for those following the commemorations. Those who wish to learn more will enjoy visiting many of them.

Sites were selected by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City in cooperation with professionals from the National Institute of Anthropology and History. They're intended to facilitate your visit, and to make it easier for you to visit more of them. Part of the ongoing 700-year commemoration of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan (1325) and the fall in 1521 to the Spanish armies.
