Centro de Coyoacán

The Centro de Coyoacán is the historic center of the alcaldía and an important and influential part of the whole of Mexico City. The very character of these few square blocks of streets and gardens seems to color the very idea of the city, if not some part of the entire country.

Visitor's come for the Frida Kahlo museum, but soon discover the central gardens and the surrounding streets. The market, the mature trees, and the cobblestone streets all seem to conspire and converge here. The result is charm at just about every turn.

With some truly world class museums, restaurants, memorable food and plenty to see and remember, it's a must stop. And though Coyoacán is still quite a lot bigger, it's the Centro de Coyoacán that keeps calling folks back.
