Metro Line 8

Mexico City's Metro Line 8 starts in the north, following the Eje Central corridor. Here, it feels like a dense urban subway system. But Line 8 will break eastward and southward, crossing into many of the City's most ancient and revered neighborhoods.

Iztacalco connects with the northern islands off the coast of Iztapalapa. That same route was long covered by canoe, and later by canal boat. Today's Metro will take you deep into the heart of many of these.

Opened in 1994, the entirety of Metro Line 8 covers just shy of 18 kilometers from north to south. 19 stations include many of the City's busiest. You can read about each of them below or by clicking on the map.
