“Apocalipsis” de José Clemente Orozco

Open - Limited Services / Capacity

This Orozco’s mural is outside Iglesia de Jesús Nazareno, in the center of the city; it is an emblematic place for conquest, since the human remains of Hernán Cortés rest in peace. It also was the first door of the Catholic cathedral in the region.

The chorus and part of the church hall still have the mural called Apocalipsis (Apocalypse), which was inspired by the horrors of World War Two. Orozco worked it from 1942 to 1944, but he did not finish.
