Café de Tacuba

The façade of this seventeenth century mansion goes unnoticed by passersby but inside is hidden one of the most beautiful jewels of the Historic Center. Today it is a restaurant decorated with different classical paintings that speak of the history of the country and its food culture. It has Talavera tiles and mosaics with symbols of Mexico. In 1900 he was a dairy but in 1912 it was acquired by Dionisio Mollinero, who founded the restaurant. The place has witnessed the country's history, hence the painter Diego Rivera married the writer Guadalupe Marin; Agustín Lara, composer, was a regular guest and it has been visited by most presidents, starting with Porfirio Diaz. It was the setting of the film "The Children of Sanchez". It is a spot you must visit.
