Can Can Projects was founded by Jackie Crespo and Gabino Azuela in 2021. The space is dedicated to the exhibition of contemporary art and and works of design.

The Colonia Juarez gallery is also affiliated with the editorial line and schedule of the Can Can Press. As a publisher, they’ve focused on promoting and distributing new visual languages. The focus is on high-quality art and design printing. They’re one of very few Riso press operators in Mexico City. Riso is an early automated ink printer that make spot-color images instead of CMYK prints. As an art publisher, they’ve participated in multiple book fairs as well as Mexico City’s most prominent contemporary art fairs.

As a curatorial enterprise, Can Can Projects offers a platform for the exhibition of works of art, but they also put forward new proposals through related creative and cultural projects. These frequently take the form of books. The space emphasizes the cultural diffusion of artistic projects and is specialized in bringing art to new approaches, new audiences, and new collectors.

The project is also an important part of the revitalization of the east Colonia Juarez neighborhood. Between strong art scenes in Zona Rosa to the west, and the lower Bucareli corridor, it seems everything between is looking up now too.
