The Embassy of Canada in Mexico City is on a quiet street in Polanco. Just off the Park, it’s immediately north of the Anthropology Museum and the Tamayo Museum.

The Canadian diplomatic mission to Mexico includes consulates in Monterrey and Guadalajara, and Consular Agencies  in

  • Acapulco
  • Cabo San Lucas
  • Cancún
  • Mazatlán
  • Playa del Carmen
  • Puerto Vallarta

There’s also an Honorary Consulate in Tijuana, in Baja California.

Canadian citizens should contact the embassy through the website, or by telephone: 55-5724-7900, while in Mexico City.

Although formal relations between the two countries date only to 1944, with the signing of the NAFTA agreements in the 1990s the two countries have grown ever closer. The number of Canadians residing in Mexico has risen along with the number of Mexicans in Canada. Both countries are signatories to multiple trade agreements beyond NAFTA and follow-up agreements. Canada is just behind the USA and Spain in terms of the total amounts of investments in Mexico. And major Mexican companies have been doing business in Canada for decades.

For our own purposes, Mexico City welcomes thousands of Canadian visitors every year. They’re here for every possible reason, from business to leisure to research. The point of all of these pages is to welcome and assist more of them.
